So, I really like Planet Fitness so much better than my other gym. The equipment is new and in abundance and its far less creepy. The other gym was to me, a little sketchy. I loved the indoor track but even that got old. Its the kind of place that I would never have used any of the strength training aparati because it was just uncomfortable in the room. It’s borderline that at Planet fitness but I just go and do what I have to, and move along. I’m there with my list of things to do and am not paying attention to anything else – except my swamp-ass.

I am very courteous and wipe the machines down immediately after I use them but I have to say, it’s a little embarrassing when I get up and theres a sweaty ass print on the seat. =/ I try and put something on it so no one sees it while I’m grabbing the spray and paper towel. Friggin’ swamp ass. If I didn’t do a warm up on the treadmill, I wouldn’t be so sweaty and leaving ass prints everywhere, but then I wouldn’t be warmed up so I’ll have to keep covering my tracks so to speak. Perhaps I should wear rubber underwear. haha!

I am not sure what to do about the hunger when I get home from the gym. It’s pretty intense. I want to eat everything. So far, I’ve managed to not blow out my calorie count but whoa. Hunger like a fly covered kid on a paid commercial. Ack.

Then there’s the matter of being jacked up. I get home and I’m wound up tighter than a bulls ass. Today, burned off some energy doing 40 minutes on the wii. Super hula hooping and a half hour on the stepper. I’m finally chilled out enough to sit still and write something down.

Last but not least…my arms and legs are killing me. It feels good though. Not complaining at all. I made it through the whole routine – even the evil shoulder presses. I’d love to say that I can’t wait for Monday but uh… I’m just not a fan of the gym, but I have to so I’ll suck up my weird social issues and get the friggin’ job done. PFit, thank goodness, is as good as it’ll ever get for me.

Day one at Pfit. LoL Good Lord. 20 minute warm up on the treadmill per order of Patrick, the fitness guru, and then right into leg presses.

You know during the very first episodes of every biggest loser season where just about everyone hurls? Well I didn’t. LoL But ONE MORE MOVEMENT and I would have lost lunch. After an hour and a half, I couldn’t even finish the last 10 reps of shoulder presses… I stopped at 6 as my right shoulder turned into something that felt like… well…mud.

I felt my stomach gurgling. I am familiar with that feeling from way back when, when I used to be in semi-shape and exercised like a crazy woman for hours every day. I’d often end up dry heaving in the kitchen sink. That was 20 years ago. I packed up my shit and left before hurling in front of the good patrons of Planet Fitness.

I was nauseous all the way home and when I got home I felt nothing but hunger. I could have eaten the soles of my shoes. The guru said that within 30 minutes of strength training, one should eat some protein. I’m certain he didn’t mean an entire rib eye steak. Well, too bad. I fired up the grill, tossed on a steak and ate the whole friggin thing. I’m still within my calorie range but friggin’ A, I was stahvin’!!

Tomorrow morning I’ll walk and hit the gym again on Friday. I’m on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday cycle for strength training, the rest of the days is cardio.

I hope I can make it through the whole routine on Friday! I kinda wish I had a gym buddy. LoL (mostly, to hold the puke bucket) haha!

Well… as I have mentioned before; I need a mission to keep me motivated. I’ve been without one since the 7 mile mission. My routine has been shot to shit and I’ve been about as motivated as my favorite animal – the sloth. As they say; the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. I do acknowledge my need for a mission, or perhaps the accountability to someone – even unknowing followers on facebook.

I think I might have found that in a Planet Fitness trainer. I toured the place last week and signed up for the $20/month plan. I figured, if anyone wanted to come with me from work or wherever, they could. I met with the trainer the other day and we went over my goals and stuff. Today I went for ‘how to use the machines’ class. I’m sure I could have figured them out but it was nice to tour all the ones I’m going to use and get familiar with them with other people as lost as me.

So… this is my mission on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays

Bench (Chest) Press, Machine
Seated Row, Floor, Machine
Overhead Press, Machine, Seated
Standing Bar Curl, Machine
Triceps Extension
Leg Press
Leg Extension
Leg Curls
Standing Calf Raises
Abdominal Crunches
Back Extension

We get a sheet of paper that we keep track of our activities, sets, reps and weight used. I’ll be doing three sets of ten for two weeks. I will meet with the guy (Patrick) in 2 weeks and he expects all of the columns in my sheet to be filled out. They will be. He’ll then add more weight to my routine and I’ll report to him when that sheet is filled.

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday is cardio and Sunday is off.

I’m thrilled to have a mission again. We’ll see how it goes! Week two will be a challenge because I’m driving to and from Virginia on my workout days so I’ll have to find the PFit in Salem VA and go in the wee hours before the 12 hour drive home. LoL

*shrug* We’ll see!
